Pastor Gloria Alford

Gloria Alford was marked for God’s service at a very young age. Daughter of the late Pastor Alfred Windom and Sister Georgia Windom, Gloria was raised in Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Chicago, Illinois under the leadership of Bishop H. W. Goldsberry.  During her time at Faith Temple, Gloria served as the director for the Radio Choir and Senior Choirs for a number of years. As a frequent soloist for the choir, Gloria’s love and gift for the ministry of music was cultivated.  Gloria’s thirst for knowledge of the Word of God allowed her to be used as an Assistant to the Sunday School Superintendent.  This hunger for knowledge continues with her today.

In 1980, Gloria was united with her husband, Donald L. Alford at Progressive Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Dr. James Benjamin Alford. After the home-going of Dr. Alford, then Minister Donald Alford was appointed Pastor of Progressive. By the leading of the Lord, she and Apostle Donald L. Alford have labored in the vision that is now Progressive Life-Giving Word Cathedral… affectionately named the “The Love Capital of the World!”

Excelling in her leadership roles in her church, Lady Glo was elevated through the levels of licensing and ordination as a Minister, Elder and now Associate Pastor.  Pastor Glo serves as Vice-President and Executive Council Member of Progressive Life-Giving Word Cathedral a/k/a Progressive Ministries. A member of the APC (Associate Pastor’s Council) Pastor Glo also serves as Director of LOVE (Ladies of Victory & Elegance Women’s Ministry), the Director of the Progressive Cathedral Choir and Director of the Life Empowerment Department.  She lends a hand of support wherever needed.  She is a former Board Member of Aspire, an organization serving persons with disabilities. Pastor Glo has had the privilege of hosting and producing Total Living Network (TLN)’s “Chicago Worship” and is currently the producer and co-host of “Developing Lambs to Lions” radio show, which airs on Sunday afternoons from 4-4:30 PM on AM 1160.

Pastor Glo received her B.A. in Church Administration from Grace College.  She is pursuing her Master’s degree in Theology.

Balanced by her gentle spirit, along with her intense leadership skill, Pastor Glo preaches a bold message of spirit-driven concepts for living, without apology. Pastor Glo teaches life-changing messages that are prophetic, empowering and especially loaded in principle to bring healing and deliverance to men, women and children.

Pastor Glo is blessed to have four wonderful children who love the Lord, Donald II & Rasheeda, Stephon, Terrell and Brianna. She is also the devoted grandmother to four grandchildren, Dajia, Donald III, DeVaughn and Jayla.  She openly expresses her greatest joy in life is to be a wife, mother of love and excellence for her children.

Pastor Glo loves the Lord, and especially loves His people. Her mission in life is to empower persons from all walks of life.
